The La Mama Deal
La Mama offers a unique and critical opportunity for independent performance makers.
Each show that we program is provided with a rent-free venue, a modest production budget, and receives eighty per cent of all ticket revenue. We also assist with admin, production, ticketing, and marketing and provide front of house staff for each performance. La Mama is a fully programmed venue, it is not a venue for hire.
We are open to all artists and everyone with anything to say. We champion new work and new ideas, but we also welcome and cherish our mid-career and veteran makers. We are much more than simply a stepping-stone to professional careers, we are a laboratory of exploring-through-performance that can be returned to again and again by artists throughout their whole working lives.
